Belonging

If i had to choose were i belong other than in my family ( even if i dont really belong there ) it would have to be with the sport teams that I play with.. Be it basketball or volleyball i feel that i trully belong to be in with that group of people and i feel comfortable with myself as a person.. Also a lot of these people whom I participarte with have been long time friends which only furthers the bond i have with this area of my life.

Grade 8 Tours

I only was able to tour grade 8's the one time and i did not really enjoy myself. I had a really lippy kid whom i could not see eye to eye with. I might have over reacted when i threatened to duck tape him but noone was interefering and i felt it my right to do something to put that kid in his place. Had I not intervened i am positive he would have continued with his actions pushing more then just me over the edge. Other than that kid it was an enjoyale time and all the kids seemed to listen to me.

* Secrets of Success

I do agree with the things he said in his presentation... Especially the one about having to push urself.... or having someone there to push u to do better. This is because noone ever seems to achieve anything unless there is someone behind them who believes in them and that they can succeed. The only thing i dont agree with is having an idea.. althought that can help it is possible for someone to be successful even if they do not have their own idea... If you can change someone elses idea and make it your own you can succeed just as well....

Spring Clean Up

I went to my grandpa's house.
I helped him cut up a piano and carry this workbench from the basement to the curb to be thrown out. I havent collected the money because i felt bad because i havent told him he needs to pay me so i dont want to till the right moment. Overall it was a good experience and i liked getting outta school to see my grampa cuz hes a pretty cool guy

Freedom Writers

I learned that its not about were you or what you have it is aout how hard u work and i bad u want something. It also showed me however that people in these types of situations need help to get out of the way they are living sometimes even if they want to succeed and i learned how just by showing interest and believing in someone that they can change and be better people. Basically this movie shows how someone can make a huge difference in someones lives for the better.

The last Lecture

It was kind of depressing cuz he kept talking about how he was going to die. But it was uplifting because he was trying to show us how to live and how the way he thinks is a good way to think about society. He shows how u should always chase ur dreams and achieve your goals. Because your only as talented as you let yourself be.

My Grade

I think i should get a 65 out of a hundred. This is because I think that i have shown decent participation in this class. Also i have been involved in a few of the projects and am now working on the overnight with Ms Matches.

Character Development

Mrs K in grade 7 really had a positive influence on my development because she was the type of person who really pushed me to be out there and play sports and become the person that I am today. If it had not have been for her i would have even less of a drive to succeed then i do now. So i feel that she was a person in my life that has greatly affected me and has drove me to be a better person then i would have been otherwise.

Nigeria #1 US #16

this goes to show that it is not material wealth that trully allows people to be happy but a sense of belonging or some other force. If the opposite was true Americans being one of the wealthiest countries would be ranked a lot higher then it is.

Me 2 We Assemble

This was a good assemble and it really showed us what we as a group are doing to help as well as showing us what it is like in the country that we are happening and why our help and Me 2 We is so vital in these desolate areas. I also liked how they had actually speakers who new waht was going on from stuff other then pictures and how it was actually a life experience.

Suicide Play

It was a good play with a good message and it also kept you interested when u watched it. It wasnt as lame as a lot of the other ones on like bullying and stuff have been. It did i good job in showing us the problems in a subtle way but also allowing us to actually have to think about the situation

Keith's Story

Keiths story was about how he was happy living with less then he would have been had he have kept money for himself. It trully showed how in his case it wasnt the money that was making him happy or unhappy its how he felt that not being able to donate a whole bunch of money made him feel unhappy with himself. He realized that he didnt have to donate large sums of money to accomplish something that small amouts of money can greatly help someone when the need it.... and how happy it made him to know he was helping all thise people.

I chose this as my quote because it represents how many people think that leaders act and I myself know that originally this is what i thought had to be done to be a good leader to be able to enforce myself and my idea's but i have realized what makes a better leader is someone who is understanding and is able to compromise for the greater good of the group but also someone strong enough to be confrontational when it is neccessarry. So in conclusion i chose this quote as a way to represent how i used to think about what makes a leader and to shwo taht this is not what actually is neccesary.

Nelson Mandela

He was an important figure to look at for leadership because
1. He was a good leader himself
2. He promoted a positive change in his home country
3. Would do anything for his cause including spending most of his young life in a prison
4. Never gave up of the dream of an apartheid free South Africa
5. Is still involved in world changing events till this day

Spring Clean Up Day

I believe that is is a rather good idea because it is good for the environment while raising money for me 2 we it is also a good way to get kids involved in their community which is scarce in teenagers these days. It would be a good way to get peope working for their community as well as raising money for a good cause.

Whale Rider

It was a heartwarming movie and although i didnt see the ending i could almost see it coming..... she was able to complete the challenges that the boys could not do and shows how good of leadership qualities she has and the grandfather finally realizes his mistakes.... It was a pretty good ending although the begining didnt really get me into the movie enough to make me really care for the characters or even care when it appeared that she had died but it is a good lesson that gender doesnt mean that someone can or cannot be a good leader.

What kind of legacy Do I want to leave?

The kind fo legacy that i would like to leave would consist of being a healthy active man and also as a huge money maker or a powerful human being. This is because powerful people always get remembered and if I was one people would remember me and it doesnt matter how they thought of me just that the remember me.

Best Thing About IDCI

In my opinion the best thing about IDCI would have to be that sports programs. I think this because it is a way for a group of guys or girls to get together and achieve the common goal of winning as well as developing long lasting friendships not only with the other players but with the coaches as well..... it is a great way to let yourself go and to be active and just have a great time.

How I Plan To Lead

I plan to lead by be participating in the Impact microcredit program to raise money for me to we by helping organize sport activities for students to purchase

The Roseto Mystery

What this means to us is that if we would like to have a longer life taht we would need to be more of a community to eachother and share and join together for a common goal of goodness.... I think this makes sense because they have proven that happier people live longer so so would people who are part of a comunity would be hapier and therefore live longer.

Leadership Activities :D

In the 1st week of leadership we have done a tonne of random things that honestly i have no clue why someone would do them.. however if i had to choose one of the things we've done and to say that it is my favorite it would have to be the group building project we did of building the flag out of hands. I really enjoyed this and found it really fun and also it allowed me to interact with a few of the people i am not very close friends with which is good because I feel this is a class that getting along with everyone would be a good quality to have due to the amount of group work. Also because my groups flag made the other flag look like a 3 year old made it it just made the whole experience that much better.That is why i would choose building the flag as my favorite activity of the year. Plus it doesnt hurt that it made everyone try to work together.
